
The Alawe of Ilawe- Ekiti, His Royal Majesty,Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, AFUNTADE 1 has congratulated Captain Kunle Layiwola , a worthy son of the ancient town on his great achievement of becoming the first Black African Chartered Master Mariner .
Oba Alabi’s congratulatory message was released in a statement signed by Chief Ajibade Olubunmi,
Media Adviser to Alawe.
The Alawe noted with joy that “Kunle has now become one of the 58 Chartered Master Mariners in the whole world, a feat he described as phenomenal, adding that his achievement has further lifted the image of Ilawe on the global map”.




The Alawe remarked that Layiwola’s success did not come as a surprise to him, judging from his family background and personal antecedents, stressing that Captain Kunle Laiwola exhibited leadership qualities during the ceremonies marking the Alawe’s 10th Coronation anniversary when he served as the Chairman of the Coronation Anniversary Planning Committee
“I am proud of you. The entire people of Ilawe love you and we pray that God will continue to guide your footsteps in your Chosen profession”,Oba Alabi said.
The traditional ruler also congratulated the Mariner’s immediate family, the entire Ilawe people and Ekiti State for the landmark achievement.
