Your Excellency,
*Open letter of appeal for the reinstatement of 21 sacked Ekiti State House of Assembly workers.*
Fraternal greetings to His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) on his practical efforts at ensuring that the glory of Ekiti is restored through his people oriented programmes and policies which have brought hope and succur to the delight of Ekitis both at home and in diaspora.
Your Excellency, your involvement in the corporate governance of Ekiti State even with the beginning from the agitation for the creation of Ekiti State and since 1999 when you assumed the position Secretary to the Committee for the creation of Ekiti State with our revered elderstateman; Chief Deji Fasuan and inception of democratic governance in Nigeria, had prepared your Excellency for leadership position, we are not in doubt that your heart is full humanitarian milk and feelings , hence anomalies done to humanity will be corrected by your esteem Office without sentiment.
Your Excellency, at the last Ekiti State House.of Assembly session during late Funminiyi Afuye Speakership, 21 workers were sacked by the House of Assembly Service Commission
As a matter of fact, these set of workers were employed through letter of employments duly signed by the Executive Secretary House of Assembly Service Commission were given to them, they were thereafter confirmed and promoted as and when due and they worked served for over ten years untill when they were sacked in year 2021 for only God knows why , when Rt Honourable Taiwo Olatunbosun was serving as Chairman of Ekiti State House of Assembly Service Commission and as at that time Dr John Kayode Fayemi was our Governor.
For the purpose of hindsight, several letters of appeal were written to the State Government, several emmisries were sent to the State Government and Leadership of Ekiti State House of Assembly, by the State Organized Labour, several opinion Leaders , Traditional R Rulers among others, the claim was that all power to reinstate these sacked workers is rested in the hand of the Executive Governor.
On a very sad note, the sack of these 21 workers has brought sadness to the families of not less than two of them , one of them, a lady , late Makinwa kemi Christiana died due to preventable sickness, mother of one of them died due to frustration while one of them lost her husband due to inability of the families to medically provide for the sickness that inflicted them.
It is very unfortunate that , among those sacked, all Local Government across the state had a pound of flesh because victims of this injustice and unjustifiable sack were spread across all the local Governments in Ekiti State.
It is on the basis of all these sadness and frustrating experiences these set of sacked workers had undergone that the Ekiti State Renaissance Movement is soliciting for the reinstatement of all the sacked Workers so as to put an end to the miserable life the affected workers are presently undergoing for the past three years
We have watched with keen interest and delight the achievements recorded by the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji BAO administration in the areas of systematic infrastructural developments, Human Capital Development, programme of actions and visionary trends of economic masterplan which Ekiti State Renaissance Movement is happy to identify with and commend Mr Governor and his team without reservation .
Your Excellency, we are passionately appealing to Mr Governor to correct this inhuman decision by reinstating the (21) twenty one sacked workers of Ekiti State House of Assembly and bring life back to the affected families; your name will not only be written in gold but will also be in the Guinness book of record of bringing happiness to the saddened families
