AFCON FINALS: EKITI-BORN US-BASED APC STALWART, DR DADA EXPRESSES HOPE OF SUPER EAGLES’ VICTORY
A United States of America based APC stalwart Dr.Deji Dada has commended the victory of the Super Eagles in the last semi final match played in Cote D’Ivoire.
The Orin Ekiti born political juggernaut said he was quite impressed with the performance of the players and especially the goal keeper Stanley Nwabali who saved some balls in the penalty kick at the end of the 90 minutes.
The APC stalwart also lauded the presence of the vice president His Excellency Shettima, which according to him boosted the morales of the victorious players.
Dr Dada said the game was really a tough one especially when the second goal of the Super Eagles was disqualified and a penalty shoot out awarded to the Badana Badana of South Africa which they immediately converted to a goal. According to him, this cut short the wild jubilation of many Nigerians and led to confusion of many inexperienced spectators who felt the officials were unfair. He also said that it was shocking to later receive the news that some Nigerians lost their lives in the course of watching the match. He expressed condolences to the families that lost their loved ones in the course of watching the highly tensed match
The philanthropist who spoke from his base in the United States of America advised Nigerians to always monitor their health status and maintain healthy lifestyle. He observed that some health situations are so acute that one may feel healthy in a moment and then collapse in the next. He said only regular medical tests can reveal such situations.
He however cautioned Nigerians with high blood pressure and similar health situations to avoid the final match on Sunday so what happened on Tuesday would not repeat itself.
On the hope of the Super Eagles carrying the trophy at the finals, Dr Dada said with the top performance of the team, their current state of mind and the discipline of their technical managers, there is high hope that Nigeria would emerge victorious. He said the country needs such victory at a time like this. He observed that Nigerians are going through pains of rebirth and a victory like this apart from uniting a nation torn apart by post election acrimony is able to bring relief and respite to the nation#.
