FORMER DEFENCE MINISTER, ADETOKUNBO KAYODE HAILS MUTALLAB ON FUNTUA DRY PORT
A former Minister of Defence and Chairman of Nigeria Private Sector Alliance, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN has congratulated a foremost industrialist Dr. Umaru Abdulmutallab on the inauguration of a dry inland port constructed by him in Funtua in Katsina State.
Kayode in his congratulatory message also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his economic team for allowing private investors to thrive in the nation’s economic sector.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria in his statement at the official commissioning of the project said a dry inland port can speed up the flow of cargo between ships and major land transportation networks, creating a more central distribution point.
He said inland ports would improve the movement of imports and exports, moving the time-consuming sorting and processing of containers inland, away from congested seaports.
Kayode, who is also the Chairman of TK Group described Dr. Abdulmutallab as a nationalist, a patriot, a philanthropist, a bridge builder, and a perfect gentleman.
According to him, only a few Nigerians have done so much as to live a lifelong commitment to the development of humanity and generations of Nigerians, even yet unborn.
His words “This laudable project will, in the spirit of our Renewed Hope, boost the economic development of Katsina State, the North West, and Nigeria as a whole.
We are elated at and proud of your continuous contribution to the socio-economic development of our Country.”
The former Minister also congratulated the Hon Minister of Marine & Blue Economy HE Gboyega Oyetola, and the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Shippers Council, Hon Pius Ukeyima Akutah for the inauguration of the project which should contribute to shore up the economy of the country.
Kayode said Dr Abdulmutallab, a former Managing Director, of United Bank For Africa, (UBA) Former Chairman, of First Bank of Nigeria, former Chairman, of Jaiz Bank, and Chairman, of Impresit Plc richly deserved the Commander Of the Order of the Niger, Nigeria, and the Commander of the Order of Merit conferred on him by the Italian government.
