
CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION: EKITI-BORN ENTREPRENEUR AND PHILANTHROPIST, DELE PHILIPS HARPS ON COLLECTIVE EFFORTS AT REDUCING OUT-OF-SCHOOL CHILDREN
Ekiti-born entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dele Philips has called for a collective efforts at reducing the number of out-of-school children in the society.
Dele Philips who was speaking with newsmen in commemoration of this year’s Children’s Day said every stakeholder has a role to play in securing brighter future for the children.
While describing as alarming the number of out-of-school children across various societies, Dele Philips corporate organisations to compliment government efforts by sensitising and creating awareness where necessary.
This, he said necessitated the Interventions carried out by Dele Philips Foundation as a large number of primary school pupils were placed on scholarship in Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 2 comprising Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero local government areas.
The APC leader also acknowledged the efforts of the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji at creating conducive teaching and learning environment in the schools while prompt payment of salaries and allowances is made a priority.
Dele Philips urged teachers to be committed to their duties as they play significant roles in shaping the future of the children, noting that whatever imputed into them at the early stages of their lives would determine what they become later in life.
