GUNMEN KILL TICKET COLLECTOR IN BROAD DAYLIGHT IN ADO-EKITI
A middle aged man has been allegedly shot dead this morning by gunmen around Okesa Roundabout, Ado Ekiti.
The man who is one those issuing tickets to commercial motorcyclists around Okesa roundabout was said to have been fired by the unknown men who came on another motorcycle.
Witnesses told newsmen that the killers ran away after perpetrating the evil act.
When contacted on telephone, Chairman Okada Riders Association, Ekiti State, Mr Kunle Asaolu confirmed that the man was one of those working with the association.
Another version gathered by NaijaParrots has it that the deceased was killed during a protest by commercial motorcyclists.
The protest was sparked by the death of a motorcyclist who was allegedly killed by a vehicle operated by the Ekiti State Transport Management Agency (EKSTMA).
The ticket collector was reportedly attacked and allegedly killed by the protesters.
The incident has been reportedly condemned by the state government while investigation is said to be underway to bring those responsible to justice.
Another anonymous respondent claimed that the incident reportedly started as a result of a dispute between ticket collectors and drivers over ticket fees.
The copse has been deposited at the Ekiti State Teaching hospital morgue.
