FAMILY, FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES TO HOLD 2ND MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR LATE POLITICAL LEADER, OTUNBA MALLON OMOGBEMI

Family, Friends and political associates of the late prominent political leader and social crusader, Otunba Mallon Omogbemi are converging on Sunday for the 2nd Memorial anniversary in honour of the community leader.
According to an invite made public by the family, guests and well wishers will join the wife and the family for a thanksgiving service in Akure the Ondo State capital.
The programme slated for God Anointed and Blessed International Church located beside popular Green Park Motel, Idanre road, Oke-Aro in Akure is expected to have in attendance political leaders from different parties, community leaders from oil producing area, especially Ilaje local government area as well as other friends of the family from within and outside the state.
Otunba Mallon Omogbemi was involved and participated actively in the affairs of Ugbo Kingdom.
He was appointed Secretary-General of Ugbo Kingdom where he served from 1990 to 1995, charting the course of development of the kingdom with all well-meaning sons and daughters of the oil-rich community.
Otunba Mallon Omogbemi joined active politics of Ondo State preparatory to the third republic during the Ibrahim Babangida era.
He was an active participant in the agitation for the recognition of Ondo State as oil producing state in Nigeria.
The prolific politician was later appointed Chairman of Ondo State Advisory Committee on Oil Matters, OMPADEC Community Relations Committee, other states and Oil Producing Community Representations at OMPADEC in Port Harcourt.
In politics, he was a member of SDP, UNCP and Alliance for Democracy where he served as Chairman of Ilaje local government executive council.
Otunba Mallon Omogbemi was appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Project Monitoring from 2009 to 2013.
Until his death, he was an active member of the All Progressives Congress.
Otunba Mallon Omogbemi was born on the 25th of June, 1953 to the families of Pa Samuel Ebunoluwa and Mrs Agnes Omogbemi nee Ikuesan both of Ugbo Kingdom in Ilaje local government area of the state.
Mallon Omogbemi became the Otunba of Ugbo Kingdom in 1990.
