2024 ISINKAN DAY: EYITAYO JEGEDE VISITS IRALEPO, RECEIVES AWARD FOR FAMILY
***Expresses Readiness to Continue to Support Isinkan Kingdom
The former PDP governorship candidate in Ondo State, Mr Eyitayo Jegede SAN has received posthumous award bestowed on his late father, Pa Johnson Bosede Jegede by the Iralepo of Isinkan Kingdom, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III).
Pa Jegede, a disciplinarian and consummate community leader, was the High Chief Odopetu of Isinkan kingdom between 1957 and 2008 when he passed on.
Presenting the award at his palace in Ita-Owa, Isinkan, headquarters of Akure West LCDA, Oba Olofin-Adimula said the recognition of Pa Jegede was informed by his huge contributions to Isinkan kingdom during his lifetime.
“Since 1957 when Pa Jegede became Odopetu of Isinkan, he contributed immensely to the development of Isinkan.”
“When the new palace was being built, pa Jegede was the treasurer, he gave a good account of himself as a forthright person. This trait runs in the Jegede’s family and I am happy that they are my sons and daughters whose exploits across the country have distinguished them as people with integrity.”
Oba Olofin-Adimula noted that the award of excellence and posthumous award bestowed on eminent Nigerians and past heroes in Isinkan are to spur the young ones on towards greater good as emblems of recognition and excellence.
He enjoined sons and daughters of Isinkan to join hands in the overall development of the Kingdom, the state and the nation.
“We are proud to have produced great men and women in all fields of endeavours. I beseech you all to join in our strides to move our community forward.”
The former PDP governorship candidate in Ondo State, Mr Eyitayo Jegede SAN expressed joy with the honour done the Jedege’s family promising to continue to contribute to the development of Isinkan land, the neighbouring communities and the entire state.
“We, members of Jegede’s family appreciate this award, we value it. It is a show of love. When I was coming here, I informed my siblings, they were excited.
“We should have come to receive the award on the day of presentation but we were outside the country.”
Mr Jegede said the family would meet and determine who occupies the vacant position of the Odopetu of Isinkan.
“Kabiyesi, we are all one, we ‘ll continue to protect the interest of Isinkan, and strive for her development as well as the growth of all sister communities around us.
As part of the 2024 Isinkan day activities, the Iralepo had posthumously honoured past heroes in Isinkan kingdom including, Pa Johnson Bosede Jegede, the former Odopetu of Isinkan.
