2024 UDIROKO FESTIVAL: EKITI-BORN ENTERPRENEUR, DELE PHILIPS FELICITATES ADO-EKITI INDIGENES ON SUCCESSFUL OUTING
A prominent indigene of Ekiti State and a philanthropist, Mr. Dele Philips has felicitated Ado-Ekiti Indigenes both home and abroad on the successful hosting of this year’s Udiroko Festival.
The businessman and leader of the All Progressives Congress said the event was a testament that the Ekiti people as a whole are advancing in the area of promotion of culture and tourism in line with international best practices.
Philips in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Seun Adetola and made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti expressed joy at the turnout of Indigenes both within and outside the country as the colourful event signals rich cultural heritage of Ado-Ekiti people.
The political leader who identified with Oredegbe Social Club to celebrate the day held at the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti’s palace called on other Indigenes to continue to see the event as a rallying point for the advancement of both socio-economic and political development of the ancient town.
In his words, “all over the world, promotion of tourism and cultural heritage have been a source of mobilising people, not only for display of culture and tradition but also a platform to project into the future of a people, community and their existence in general”.
“I am happy with what I have seen in Ado-Ekiti and I am confident that this will continue to improve as more and more features are expected to be added as events unfold”, Philips said.
He congratulated the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe and the entire indigenes as well as Ekiti State in general on witnessing the spectacular event that ushers in a new calendar year for Ado-Ekiti.
