ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES SPECIAL SCHEME, ‘HEALTH IS WEALTH’ TO BOOST MATERNAL CARE
A special programme tagged Health is wealth scheme has been flagged off at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Ondo City.
It is one of the 10-point agenda unveiled by Ondo State Government through O’Datiwa Women Initiatives recently.
Special Adviser to Governor on Women Affairs, Seun Osamaye while flagging off the scheme said the move is to ensure that health of women especially the pregnant and vulnerable ones are prioritized for a healthy society.
Starter packs for pregnant women were also presented to the Hospitals’ management to ease delivery requirement.
The launch of Health is wealth scheme by the administration is to enhance all round health care for women, pregnant women, nursing mothers as well as medical outreach for the senior citizens and the vulnerable.
Special Adviser to Governor on Women Affairs, Dr.(Mrs) Seun Osamaye who led O’datiwa Women to University of Medical sciences Teaching Hospital, Ondo to launch the scheme said the administration is dedicated to ensuring that pregnant women, nursing mothers, and health workers have access to vital healthcare items.
A member of hospitals management Board, Aarinola Adamolekun described the dedication of the governor to supporting vulnerable groups and prioritizing their health needs as a commendable example.
Acting Chief Medical Director, UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Dr. Michael Gbala lauded the gesture.
The team also moved to State Specialist Hospital Ondo where the O’Datiwa Women were received by the chief Medical Director, Dr. Adeola Akintade
