EKITI APC LEADER, DELE PHILIPS PREACHES PEACE, HOPE AS NIGERIA CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Dele Philips has enjoined Nigerians to continue to sustain the relative peace being enjoyed in the state and the country at large.
The political leader spoke in a statement signed by his media aide, Iyiola Adetola and made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti in commemoration of the Independence Day anniversary of the country.
While noting that the nation is passing through various degrees of economic hardship and challenges, Philips expressed the hope of a light at the end of the dark tunnel.
He stressed that though Nigeria is not where the citizens desire in terms of the economy and food security as well as security of lives and property, there are hopes that the various economic interventions being applied would impart positively on land and the people.
Dele Philips also charged those in positions of authority to expedite action on the interventionist policies and programmes being rolled out by both the Ekiti State government and the federal government to make life more meaningful for the citizenry.
In his words, “if the President gives approval for distribution of fertilizer for our farmers and those saddled with the responsibility are not up and doing, the people would be at the receiving end”.
“At the same time, if what our Governor Biodun Oyebanji approved for the people at the grassroots are not properly distributed by those saddled with the responsibility, it’s the people that bear the brunt.”
“It is therefore my pleasure that every stakeholder should play his part as President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji cannot be everywhere as theirs is to ensure that the citizens are cared for in line with the laid down policies created for such purposes”, Philips added.
The political leader felicitated Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora and urges continued peaceful coexistence as well as hope as the leaders keep working hard to make the country achieve the dream of its founding fathers.
