GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA RESTORES POWER SUPPLY TO IPELE COMMUNITY AFTER TWO YEARS POWER OUTAGE
The Ondo State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, is pleased to announce the immediate restoration of electricity supply to the Ipele community in Owo Local Government Area of the State, following a prolonged power outage of over two years.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy, (Dr.) Johnson Alabi, gave the hint to newsmen in his office, confirming that electricity supply to Ipele is expected to be fully restored in less than a week, deterring any unforeseen circumstance.
He added, “In line with the recent transfer of regulatory authority to the Ondo State Electricity Regulatory Board (OSERB), the Governor had mandated BEDC Electricity Ondo Limited (BEOL) to ensure that power is restored to Ipele without further delay”.
Dr. Alabi reiterated the commitment of the Ondo State Government to leveraging the regulatory transfer to collaborate closely with BEOL in addressing the power challenges faced by several communities within the state.
According to a statement signed by the Media Officer in the Office of Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy, Debbie Funmilayo, the Special Adviser said the initiative was part of the ongoing efforts to improve electricity access for residents and ensure that other affected areas would also benefit from the similar restoration process.
“Ondo State Government is urging communities currently experiencing power outages to remain patient as collaborative efforts between the State government and BEOL are actively underway to resolve these challenges; We assure all affected communities that power supply restoration is a priority, and we are committed to ensuring a lasting solution”, he said.
Dr. Alabi used the medium to call on all stakeholders to continue to support the efforts of the government even as work continues towards improving the energy infrastructure for the people of Ondo State.
