ABUJA AIRPORT SHUT AFTER AIRCRAFT SKIDDED OFF RUNWAY
The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) Abuja has been shut after an Allied Air cargo flight reportedly skidded off the runway and got stuck on Wednesday morning.
The incident according to a report, forced airport authorities to shut the airport temporarily for the plane to be removed.
The Allied Air Cargo aircraft with registration number 5N-JRT skidded off Runway 22 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed the incident, which reportedly happened at 10:05 a.m.
Mrs Obiageli Orah, FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, said in a statement: “The Airport Emergency Response Team is on the scene along with accident investigators,” Vanguard reported.
