…Leaders say it was the first time such would happen, assure candidates of support
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Akure South local government area have commented the Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates for visiting them ahead of the January poll.
The candidates had visited the leaders to carry them along in terms of the various efforts to come out victorious in the fast-approaching local government election.
It was also an opportunity to carry the leaders along on how far the Akure South Transition Committee had gone in complimenting the efforts of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at the grassroots.
The visit took the team to the leader of the Elders’ Forum, Chief S.B Akerele, the NDDC Executive Director, former and current ministers, former and present senator and house of Rep members, past representatives, cabinet members, and the state and senatorial party chairmen.
They all commended and appreciated the remarkable visits of all the candidates led by the chairmanship candidate, Hon. Dr. Fasua Gbenga.
According to them, the delegation which included the vice chairman and councillors from all eleven wards truly exemplified unity and strength.
They said the visits culminated at the APC Party Chairman’s office in Akure South marked a significant moment in the political landscape of the local government and the state in general.
“The collective effort and dedication displayed by this team are commendable”.
“It is said that in the annals of politics, such solidarity has rarely been witnessed. I want to particularly recognize Hon. Dr. Fasua Gbenga for his unconventional wisdom and relentless determination”, State party Chairman , Engr Adetimehin said.
“His ability to start this campaign on such a positive note is truly inspiring”.
Speaking during the visits, the Akure South local government APC Chairmanship Candidate, Dr. Gbenga Fasua assured that the team has put in place the required processes to ensure that they live up to expectations of the people.
In his words, “I extend my gratitude to all the leaders who provided their invaluable advice and also blessed us with their prayers”.
“Your words of encouragement will make us more formidable as we are prepared to make a difference in delivering dividends of democracy to the people”.

Among the influential leaders visited were Elder Dr S.B. Akerele (Chairman of the Elders Forum, Akure-South APC), Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde (Executive Director, NDDC Cooperative Affairs), Hon. Ademola Adegoroye (Former Minister of State for Transportation), Hon. Festus Aregbesola (Senatorial Chairman, APC), Hon. Chief Fesobi Akinmolayan (APC Chairman, Akure-South), Hon. Gbenga Olaniyi (Commissioner for Physical Planning & Urban Development), Hon. Afe Olowokere (Former Member of the House of Representatives for Akure South and North), Hon. Idowu Otetubi (Former Commissioner for Natural Resources).
Others are Hon. Pastor Ayo Babalola (Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure and Development), and Hon. Steven Abitogun (Member of the House of Assembly for Akure-South Constituency II). Some leaders were not available due to unavoidable circumstances, they include Senator Niyi Adegbomire (Senator Representing Ondo central), Hon. Olumuyiwa Adu, Hon Bunmi Ademosu, Hon. Omowumi, Hon. Mayokun Alade LAF ( Former MHR Akure south and North constituency), Hon. Aderin Adesida (MHR Representing Akure South and North constituency) and host of others but the engagement with those present underscored our commitment to strengthening our party’s foundation in Akure-South.
