OPEN LETTER TO MY 3 SENATORS AND 6 HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES MEMBERS

CUSTOM OFFICERS ARE CHEATING THE IMPORTERS AND DEALERS

I want to bring to your notice what the importers and dealers of vehicles are passing through under the faulty leadership of custom officers at tincan office and the custom officers on the roads.

No accurate or uniform fees for clearing of vehicles, it is just the bargaining from our clearing agents and custom officers in the office.

By the time a particular fee is sent for payment, for example, 3m naira to clear a Toyota camry, 1.7m will be paid as duties and the remaining will be for oga at the office and some levies for shipping company, the rest for the agents.

The custom officers will release the vehicle and the custom officers on the streets and highway will challenge the fees paid as duty, this will bring negotiations between the drivers and custom on highway, most drivers paid 200k as settlement before they were left alone.

The highway custom subjected importers to a risk and long time delays.

What is our offence? The customs officers in the office should be held responsible for any short payment, they collected this money without considering the government.

I want to seek your audience, I am ready to give you further information to seek redress at the national assembly, people are dying because of the various hardships subjected importers and dealers at the time they stopped importers.

Nigerians are crying for help on this matter, I am ready to have a debate on national television stations because of this matter.

The worst along the highway is the one at Owena in ondo state ,they collected 100k last year on Tacoma, yesterday again, they collected 200k, there is videos evidence against them.

Help us please, I personally contributed to the economic growth of the country by importing vehicles and by paying duties.
