
ONDO SET TO EMPOWER 1000 WOMEN AS AIYEDATIWA’S AIDE OSAMAYE HOSTS NCWS MEMBERS
The Special Adviser to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Women Affairs, Dr. Seun Osamaye has said that the state government is set to empower 1000 women in the state.
Dr. Osamaye said the aim is to boost their businesses in line with the campaign promises of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to make life more meaningful for women in the state.
The Special Adviser was speaking while playing host to members of the National Council for Women Societies led by the President, Bishop(Mrs) Oluseyi Oluwakemi Odusola.
Dr. Osamaye said having the team in her office as the first courtesy call signifies their readiness to key into the various programmes and policies of the present administration to improve lives of women across the state.
In her words, “tell our women that it is the period of ease in Ondo State for them. The era of lobbying to benefit from government programmes is over”.
“We shall reach out women irrespective of their location. It is our responsibility and I want to say again that your coming at this time shows how strategic and relevant you are”.
The Special Adviser said as a member of the National Council for Women Societies, she is aware of the links and the contacts of the group with women groups and assured that government is prepared to partner the council to empower women in the 18 local government areas of the state.
Osamaye assured that the approaching Intentional Women’s Day 2025 would be colourful and made a platform to unveil various programmes Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has mapped out for the benefit of the women.
Earlier in her speech, the President of National Council for Women Societies, Bishop(Mrs) Oluseyi Odusola expressed happiness that women are being given recognition by the Aiyedatiwa’s administration.
She commended the Governor for appointing Dr. Osamaye and the Finance Commissioner into the new cabinet, expressing the hope that they would justify the confidence reposed in them.
The president commented Dr. Osamaye for hitting the ground running by embarking on various processes of making the ministry of women affairs more relevant in the “Our Ease” approach of the present administration.
