A member of Ekiti State House of Assembly representing Oye Constituency 1, Hon. Tope Longe has penned glowing tributes to his father after 16 years of transiting to the great beyond.
According to a post made public on his social media handle, Honourable Longe described his father as an example of futuristic family man.
In the write-up tagged “16 years after, the water won’t run dry”, the legislator assured that the family will keep building on the legacies left behind by the community man.
“My father, my teacher, my role model, my mentor, my coach, my pastor, my friend, Pa Micheal Ojo Longe, every 11th of March, the day The Almighty called you is a day for me to break down, the saddest day of my life, referring to you in the past is heartbreaking, you were not only my father, you were my friend, you were selfless, an unrepentant giver and a lover of God”.
“I remember the Christlike values you instilled in us, the simple moments we shared together, the integrity you demonstrated and the legacy if strength and resilience you left behind”.
“Dad, the grief of losing you is indescribable, I lost a protector, I lost a guiding hand, I lost a best friend, i lost a superhero. You lived well, laughed often, you loved much, you gave us the greatest gift anyone could give.. you believed in us”.
“My appreciation for your kindness cannot be measured, my love for you has no expiration date, as a child, all my problems ended with a single word from you. Your smile was a sunshine. You were smart, generous and honourable. No matter what bad choices I made, you were always there for me. You always lovingly repaired my broken spirit, helped me plot a new course and set me free to fly on my own once again”.
“There is no greater love than that. You never taught us how to live. You only lived and let us watch you do it. Dad, you will always be special to me, no matter where life takes me, I’ll always remember you with love”.
