
OLUMUYIWA ADU MOURNS OLUJIGBA OF IJIGBA, OBA LUYI ROTIMI
…Describes his passing as painful and irreplaceable
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo state, Dr (Barr) Olumuyiwa Adu a.k.a has sent his condolences to the people of Ijigba community on the demise of their erudite monarch, Oba (Rev’d) ‘Luyi Rotimi, FCA whose transition to eternal glory was traditionally announced on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
Dr Adu, a renowned promoter of culture and tradition, maintained a cordial relationship with the late Olujigba of Ijigba during his lifetime and equally enjoys robust affinity with many other traditional rulers in Nigeria.
In an emotional statement to express his grief and empathy, Dr Adu described the late king as a leader par excellence, displaying forthrightness, wisdom, godliness and acute recollection of history with accurate facts and figures.
Eulogizing the departed Oba, Dr Adu stated, “Kabiyesi was a lovely and lively personality. His community service was outstanding. As a former bureaucrat, he knew so much about so many things, showcasing his extreme experience and impressive knowledge during private and public discourses”.
The statement further stressed that, “The late Olujigba always put the interest of his community above his personal interest and spoke the truth with intelligence”.
“The Ijigba community and Akure kingdom as a whole will sorely miss his wise counsel and other fatherly roles”.
“I commiserate with his bereaved families, friends, subjects and the government of Ondo state at this period of mourning.
“My heart also goes to Akure South Local government Chairman, Dr Gbenga Fasua, Deji of Akure Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty Oba Aladetoyibo Ogunlade Aladelusi, CFR, Odundun II, Ondo State Council of Traditional Rulers and all the loved ones he left behind over this sad episode”.
“Though, we are deeply pained by his transition which will definitely create an irreplaceable vacuum, we must submit to the supreme will of Almighty God.
We shall continue to celebrate his impactful reign, fulfilled life and exemplary achievements” Dr Adu concluded.
Dr Adu prayed for the repose of Olujigba’s soul as he joins his ancestors in heavenly bliss.
