OWA OBOKUN OF IJESALAND BANKROLLS IBADAN-ILESA ROAD TO REDUCE CARNAGE
…Assures the road would be made motorable before his coronation ceremony slated for May 23rd this year
The Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Haastrup, has intervened in the incessant accidents being recorded along the Ibadan-Ilesa express road.
According to the monarch, he is bankrolling the repair of the Ibadan-Ilesa motorway to reduce carnage.
A post by a media aide to Owa Haastrup on Sunday disclosed that the traditional ruler made this known when members of the Ijesa Society in Lagos paid him a congratulatory visit in Ilesa.
The paramount ruler noted that he secured the approval of the Federal Ministry of Works to carry out the repair on the federal road at his expense.
He assured the prominent people and other invitees that the road would be made motorable before his coronation ceremony slated for May 23, 2025.
Speaking on his economic plan for Ijesaland, Haastrup stated that arrangements have been concluded for the training of 25 Ijesa youths in agribusiness by some experts in Nasarawa State.
The paramount ruler said the beneficiaries would be provided with land, funds, and necessary support to thrive in their areas of specialisation.
