
DISABILITY GROUP SEEKS DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIPS TO UPLIFT MEMBERS IN ONDO STATE
The entire disability community under the APC Political Advancement Network of Persons with Disabilities in Ondo State is calling for urgent development partnerships which shall focuses on improving the lives of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across the state.
Recognizing that PWDs remain among the most marginalized and underserved groups in society, the government is prioritizing inclusive development as a core part of its governance agenda.
There is a critical need for collaborative engagement with development partners, donor agencies, civil society, and the private sector to support programs that ensure accessibility, education, healthcare, skills development, and economic empowerment for persons with disabilities.
This group emphasized that development must leave no one behind.
“Our network is committed to building an inclusive Ondo State where everyone – regardless of physical ability – has equal access to opportunities. We call on all relevant stakeholders to join us in this noble mission.”
In a press release issued at Akure by the chairman of the group, Com Segun Abimbola, he stated that getting someone to drive the agenda effectively requires a competent and experienced individuals who can mobilize, coordinate, and implement impactful initiatives targeting PWDs to be appointed as head of the Disability Agency.
“The group is still on their passionate appeal to the governor of Ondo State to kindly consider appointment of competent person with vast experience and knowledgeable enough to bring about partnership engagement of donor bodies for sustainable solutions”.
“These efforts is in line with both national disability frameworks and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which call for partnerships and collaborations to achieve targeted goals”.
“Development partners, NGOs, disability advocates, and international donors are invited to collaborate with Agency for the welfare of persons with Disabilities in advancing policies, infrastructure, and programs that promote dignity, equity, accessibility, social protection and economic inclusion for all citizens with Disabilities”.
