TEAM CROSS RIVER RESUMES CAMPING AHEAD NIGER DELTA GAMES
Team Cross River State has officially resumed camping ahead of the forthcoming Niger Delta Games, following the conclusion of final trials conducted last week and Monday.
The camping exercise brings together the best-performing athletes selected across various sports, as Cross River State intensifies preparations for a strong outing at the regional sporting event scheduled to hold in Edo State.
All selected athletes are currently accommodated in a serene and well-equipped hotel in Calabar, providing a conducive and comfortable environment to enhance focus, discipline, and optimal performance.
Speaking on the development, the Chairman of the Cross River State Sports Commission and Chairman of the Liaison Committee stated that the decision to commence early camping and provide first-class accommodation was deliberate, noting that athlete welfare remains a top priority in the state’s sports development agenda.
“The essence of early and comfortable accommodation is to properly prepare our athletes—physically, mentally, and psychologically—for success at the Niger Delta Games,” he said.
Also reacting, the Media Head of the Liaison Committee, Mr. Ettah Emmanuel O., revealed that the athletes expressed excitement and gratitude over the quality of facilities and overall experience.
“The athletes are happy and highly motivated to enjoy such a first-class camping experience in a serene environment. They deeply appreciate His Excellency, Apostle Sen. Bassey Otu, The executive governor of Criss River state, Chairman, Mr Etta Lawrence, Chairman Cross River state sports commission, Dunamis Icon Ltd, and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for this beautiful innovation in introducing the Niger Delta Games,” Mr. Ettah noted.
According to him, the athletes have collectively pledged to give their best and make Cross River State proud at the Games in Edo State.
