OVER 400 RESIDENTS BENEFIT FROM OBA ADEBANJI ILORI FOUNDATION FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH

About Four hundred and Fifty people of Orin Ekiti, Ido Osi Local Government have benefited from the free medical outreach organised by the Oba Samuel Adebanjo Ilori Foundation (OSAIF)
The beneficiaries were drawn from across the various quarters in the community and environs without preference for religion, ethnic or political differences.
The beneficiaries had access to various medical screenings such as diagnosis and treatment of minor ailments including Malaria, Health Education and Counselling on prevailing health Issues, diagnosis and appropriate treatment of Diabetes, testing and Diagnosis of Hypertension , Testing for Prostate Enlargement in men above 50 years and appropriate Referral services
The session was anchored by a public Health specialist, Mr, Aroge Olu James and Sponsored by Barr. Segun Ilori, the Chairman and CEO of Oba Samuel Adebanji Ilori Foundation (OSAIF)
Addressing the beneficiaries, representative of the foundation Mrs Nike Ogunleye (Nee Ilori) said the free outreach was initiated to give people access to quality healthcare services at their doorsteps.
Delivering a Health talk on “YOUR HEALTH, YOUR WEALTH: Live Healthily, Eat Healthily and Act Healthily”, a retired Chief Nursing Officer, Mrs Comfort Olufunke Fasola
urged the people to always eat balanced diet, engage in regular exercise, drink plenty of water and avoid self medication.
Earlier, the Presbyter, Methodist Church Nigeria, Orin Ekiti – venue of the occasion, Very Revd Makanjuola Esan admonished the beneficiaries to embrace the gesture of accessing quality health care services made available to them at no cost.
Shedding light on the essence of the programme, a Public Health Specialist, Mr. Aroge Olu James, who is the Coordinator of Oba Samuel Adebanji Ilori Foundation Free Medical outreach said, the phenomenon, free health is only free to the beneficiaries because somebody somewhere has already paid for the services received.
“Sometimes it could be Government, a times it could be Developmental partners and in some cases a philanthropist”.
“In the ongoing Medical outreach , all the services rendered are on the occasion bill of Oba Samuel Adebanji Ilori Foundation”.
He therefore enjoined all not to abuse the privilege but use it to restore, promote and improve their own health and well-being.
Barr. Segun Ilori, the CEO and Founder of Oba Samuel Adebanji Ilori in his Goodwill message has earlier remarked that the current economic realities had made access to quality health care a bit difficult to the extent that people are giving up and many are dying as a result of ignorance of their health condition.
“This program which has been in place over the years shall therefore continue to hold with a view to making our people live an enjoyable life free of avoidable diseases”
The Beneficiaries were full of appreciation to OSAIF for the gesture which according to them has given them relief and hope of a better living.
At the end of the event, five cases were referred to a higher level of health care service delivery based on their complaints and diagnosis.
