FASORANTI SECURES APC TICKET FOR ONDO CENTRAL SENATORIAL RACE
Former Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, has secured the All Progressives Congress senatorial ticket for Ondo Central Senatorial District after emerging winner of the party’s primary election conducted on May 18, 2026.
The result of the exercise was announced by the Chairman of the Senatorial Primary Election Committee and Returning Officer, Engr. Thomas Olufemi Awosika, who stated that the election was conducted in compliance with the constitution and electoral guidelines of the party.
Awosika said Fasoranti polled a total of 36,652 votes to defeat other contenders in the race.
According to the official result released by the committee, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire garnered 5,733 votes, while Dr Sylvester Muyiwa Adu secured 1,245 votes.
The returning officer subsequently declared Fasoranti winner of the primary election, affirming that he fulfilled all constitutional requirements of the APC and obtained the highest number of valid votes cast in the exercise.
He was thereafter returned elected as the party’s candidate for the Ondo Central Senatorial District ahead of the forthcoming senatorial election.
