OSUN INDIGENES IN CANADA SET TO CELEBRATE ASSOCIATION’S 15TH ANNIVERSARY
…To Hold Leadership, Culture And Investment Summit, Awards Ceremony
The Indigenes of Osun in Canada (IOIC) is
set to commemorate a major milestone in its history with its 15th Anniversary Celebration,
Leadership, Culture & Investment Summit and Awards Presentation, scheduled for Sunday,
October 4, 2026, at Wesley Banquet Hall, 69 Milvan Drive, North York, Ontario, M9L 1Y8.
The landmark celebration will bring together community leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs,
investors, cultural advocates, families and friends of Osun from across Canada and beyond.
The event will highlight IOIC’s journey of community building while creating a platform for
conversations around leadership, cultural identity, investment opportunities, innovation and
sustainable development.
A major highlight of the celebration will be the Awards Presentation, recognizing distinguished
individuals selected for honour as part of the association’s 15th anniversary.
The awardees are;
Otunba Adewale Adepoju, Dr. Olakunle Ibitoye, Mr. Segun Akanni, Dr. Remi Adewale,
Pharmacist Bola Banjoko, Dr. Joshua Yusuf, Dr. Ola Kassim, Dr. Adekunle Adeyemi, Chief Tola
Adeniyi, and Mr. Wale Rabiu, CEO of Matlock Bread.
The ceremony is designed not only to celebrate individual accomplishment alone but also to
encourage a stronger culture of service, professional excellence, entrepreneurship and positive
contributions to society.
Speaking ahead of the event, Prince Olasunkanmi Adebayo (Joge), President of IOIC,
described the 15th anniversary as both a celebration of the association’s journey and an
opportunity to look confidently toward its future.
“Fifteen years represents more than the passage of time; it represents the sacrifices, resilience
and collective commitment of men and women who believe that our heritage can remain a
source of strength even thousands of kilometres away from home. This celebration is about
honouring those who have served, connecting generations and creating new pathways for
leadership, investment and community prosperity. As we celebrate our past, we must also build
a future in which our culture, knowledge, networks and resources become instruments of
progress for our people and the wider society.”
The anniversary programme will blend the richness of Osun and Yoruba cultural heritage with
contemporary discussions on leadership, business, investment and innovation, reflecting IOIC’s
commitment to maintaining a strong cultural identity while contributing meaningfully to Canadian
society.
The Leadership • Culture • Investment Summit 2026 will also provide opportunities for
networking and strategic engagement among professionals, business owners, investors and
community stakeholders.
Guest Speaker at the Summit is an erudite Scholar and
Professor of Finance & Accounting, Prof. Francis Fasanu.
