AAUA VC OBAMUYI HAILS AIYEDATIWA’S RECOGNITION AS BEST GOVERNOR IN EDUCATION
The Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Prof. Tomola Obamuyi, has congratulated the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa, on his recognition by the Federal Ministry of Education as the Best Governor in Education.
The Ondo State Governor and Visitor to Adekunle Ajasin University, was named the winner at the 2026 World Teachers’ Day Commemoration at the Eagles Square, Abuja on Monday, October 5, 2026.
The National Union of Teachers (NUT) whose national leadership was prominently involved in the event, alongside its Ondo State wing, heavily backed and celebrated the recognition due to Aiyedatiwa’s massive investments in teachers’welfare in particular and education in general.
Prof. Obamuyi described the recognition as a significant acknowledgement of the Governor’s commitment to the development of education and the welfare of teachers in Ondo State.
He noted that the honour was a reflection of the importance attached to education under the Ayedatiwa administration, particularly efforts aimed at strengthening the sector and creating an enabling environment for teachers and learners across the state.
According to the Vice Chancellor, the recognition is not only a commendation of the Governor’s contributions to education but also an encouragement for the state government to sustain and deepen initiatives that would enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
He expressed optimism that the honour would inspire the Governor and his administration to achieve even greater milestones in the education sector, while advancing policies and programmes capable of improving the well-being and prospects of the people of Ondo State.
Prof. Obamuyi further congratulated Governor Ayedatiwa on the well-deserved recognition, assuring him of the continued goodwill and support of the university community as the state pursues sustainable development through quality education and human capital development.
He emphasised that investment in education remains critical to the socio-economic advancement of any society, stressing that a well-developed education system provides the foundation for producing skilled manpower and building a prosperous future.
The Vice Chancellor therefore commended the Federal Ministry of Education and the Nigeria Union of Teachers’ for the recognition and urged stakeholders in the sector to continue supporting initiatives designed to improve teaching, learning and the overall development of education in Ondo State.
