Report just reaching our desk says two pregnant women have been arrested for an alleged attempt to export seven parcels of cannabis sativa, a sachet of ecstasy drug and 300 tablets of 200mg and 225mg high dosage tramadol capsules concealed in crayfish and cartons of alcohol.
They were arrested by the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA alongside a freight agent at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Ikeja, Lagos.
In another development, a Brazilian returnee was arrested on Tuesday May 3rd during an inward clearance of passengers at the Lagos Airport for alleged possession of two parcels of 800grams of cocaine concealed in his backpack.
Meanwhile, large consignments of over 700 kilogramme of psychoactive substances to include cocaine, Methamphetamine and cannabis among others were intercepted in Kaduna, Yobe and Plateau states.
As at the time of this report, 13 suspects were arrested in connection with the crime.
