A socio-political group in Ekiti State, Progressives Youth Network has drummed support for the aspiration of Mr. Dele Phillips to represent Ekiti Central Federal Constituency Two at the National Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The leadership of the group who spoke with Naijaparrots reporter, Demola Kunlere in Ado-Ekiti the state capital hinged their decision on the antecedents of the international business mogul.
The Chairman of the group, Dr. Adewole Falusi said the house of representatives hopeful has been demonstrating a high degree of commitment and dedication to issues affecting his people with initiatives that have imparted positively on the lives of the people.
Dr. Falusi emphasized that structures and processes are being put in place to ensure that the founder of Dele Phillips Foundation emerges the candidate of the party, calling on the delegates to pitch their tent with the best aspirant towards achieving a greater society
Similarly, Secretary of the group, Mr. Iyiola Adetola said the aspirant has been justifying the confidence reposed in him as a party chieftain as well as a philanthropist.
Adetola made reference to the numerous contributions of Mr. Dele Phillips to the growth of the party both at the local government and state levels.
He stressed that opportunities created by the the key player in the hospitality industry in Nigeria and abroad for his people have continued to be a reference point in the area.
Reacting to this development in a phone chat, the house of representatives hopeful, Mr. Dele Phillips said the level of support being received from various quarters in the three local government areas making the constituency has been propelling his campaign organization.
He assured that more party leaders and members are being mobilised for the realisation of the dream which he said is in the overall interest of his people and the state at large.
In his words, “emerging as the member representing the people of Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero local government areas would add value to our people. To be modest, I am in touch with my friends both locally and internationally and they are part of this vision that will create a new orientation in terms of socio-economic development”.
“Our own empowerment would different and the lives of our youths would be changed for good”, Mr. Phillips said.
He added that delegates would be treated as the real shareholders in the party by involving them in the various processes of representation that would underline their place as party leaders.
