As muslims all over the world commence Ramadan fasting, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and 2023 Ondo North Senatorial Aspirant, Chief Dr. Alex Ajipe has felicitated with muslims in the state, Nigeria and world at large on the observance of this year holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement issued in Akure by his media Aide, Solomon Adewoye, Ajipe admonished all muslim faithful to use this holy month to pray for peace and unity in Nigeria.
According to him, fasting was not just meant to stay hungry or thirsty, but an opportunity to strive for inner purification and self-accountability.
“It is meant to inculcate righteousness and discipline,” he said.
He enjoined fasting Muslims to increase their love for humanity, acts of charity, kindness, generosity and gratitude.
“I’m happy to greet our Muslim brothers and sisters who have started the observance of Ramadan fasting. This is not, merely, a season of abstinence from food, drink, and worldly pleasures. It is a time to pray for our dear state and Nigeria. It is a period to give to the needy and be generous towards each other”
“I urge all Muslim faithful to pray for peace and unity of the nation. It is only in an atmosphere of peace that we can make progress as a people”
“I am very optimistic that with prayers from our Muslim brothers and Christians who are rounding up their lent, Nigeria will overcome all these banditry and terrorism” Ajipe said
