ACCOLADES AS IYA ADINI OF AKURE LAND, ALHAJA GIDADO RETIRES FROM PUBLIC SERVICE AS EVENT COINCIDENCES WITH 60TH BIRTHDAY
It was a moment of merriment and accolades, as the Iya Adinni of Akure Kingdom, Alhaja Hon. F. I Gidado, on Saturday hosted family members, friends and well-wishers at her retirement thanksgiving from Public service.
The epoch-making ceremony was held at the Akure City Hall under the chairmanship of a frontline politician, Prof. Olu Aderonmu.
The event was well attended by monarchs from within and outside Ondo State who included the Deji of Akure land, HRM, Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, Odundun II, HRM Oba Michael Kehinde Adebowale Taiwo (JOWELE LORI-OKO ORILOBAMISE II) the Onifiye Adimula of idado-ijesa kingdom, Oba Luyi Rotimi the Olujigba of Ijigba, the Akapinsha of Ipinsha, Oba Dr. Funmiilayo Omoniyi, the Olurese of Irese, Oba Destiny Saka, Oba Dr. Adebayo Sunday Ademehinti, Asakin of Abo as well as Muslim clerics from Ondo and Ekiti States.
Others included political leaders and religious groups like Ans aru Deen society of Nigeria, Muslim Ladies Circle of Nigeria, MULCON, Federation of Muslim Women’s Society of Nigeria FOMWAN, Egbe Alaalhaja etc.
Other dignitaries include, Dr. Bankole Akerele, Dr. Bunmi Ademosu-Williams, Sheikh Najeemdeen Gidado from Lagos, Alhaji Mojeed Ajijola from Ado Ekiti, Engr. Kosmo, Erelu Iyaloja of Akure, Mrs. Adefunmilayo Adekanye, Alhaja Akamson and the wife of Ondo State SSG.
The celebrant, Alhaja Gidado who used the opportunity to thank Allah for keeping and sustaining her through her years of public service also extended gratitude to all those who made tremendous contributions to the success she attained over the years.
While particularly acknowledging the love showered on her by family and most especially to the Muslim community, Alhaja Gidado thanked all those who took time out to grace the occasion, praying Allah to also grant them all their heart desires.
On life after retirement, Alhaja Gidado said she will now spend more time doing the work of Allah and participate in politics as her passion is to attract dividends of democracy to Akure land.
The event among others afforded many of the guests the opportunity to speak and pay flowing tributes to the celebrant.
His Eminence, Sheik Dr. Abdulhakeem Yayi Akorede while extending congratulations to the celebrant described her as a great woman of impact and a model to others.
One major highlight of the event was the official release of a two-in-one album by the celebrant.
At the event, some distinguished Nigerians were honoured for their contributions to the development of humanity, while some late clerics including her father in-law, late Sheikh GB Gidado the first Baba Adinni of Ekiti land, her late Uncle Sheik Ajijola the late Naibi of Ado Ekiti Muslim community, her Islamic teacher, late Sheikh Jolaiya Asisoloriiro, the Balogun Oniwaasi of Ondo State, late Oba Alhaji Saka Akewusola, the Olurese of Irese received post-humous awards for the good legacies they left behind.
Others who were honoured were active individuals like Pastor Mrs. Monisola Faseyi, Alhaja Medinat Ademola the director of Adebimpe Hotel and farms Osogbo, Alhaji Kehinde Alatise, Alhaja Ramat Ooye (iya Ewe) and many others.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after receiving the honour, some of the awardees thanked the celebrant for deeming it fit to honour them noting that it will spur them to do more.
Also speaking, husband of the celebrant, Alhaji Lai Gidado, the publisher of Ebony Herald International Magazine Abuja, said he gave Allah all the glory for the successful retirement of his wife from government work.
He thanked all dignitaries and guests for coming from far and near to honour the invitation.
According to him, “After her retirement, it is my humble wish for her to remain relevant in the affairs of Akure and Politics of Ondo State.
He also prayed Allah to prosper the works of their hands.
