ONDO GOVERNORSHIP POLL: ‘GRASSROOT DEMOCRACY DEFENDERS’ VOWS TO ENSURE VICTORY FOR AIYEDATIWA

A Political Organisation, Grassroot Democracy Defenders has vowed to continue to work towards the victory of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State, Honourable Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The group which has been in existence since 2021in support of the ambition of the governor is rooted in the 203 political wards as well as the 18 local government areas and the 33 LCDAs.

Rising from its monthly meeting in Akure the Ondo State capital, the State Coordinator of the group, Barrister C.K Ojo stated that members of the group have since been championing the Aiyedatiwa Project in the general interest of the populace with the conviction that he means well for the people of the state.

In his words, “we were part of the initiative that His Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa should lead the people of this state and our prayers were answered when he won the governorship ticket of our great party”, Ojo said.

Barrister Ojo said it is evident that the Governor means well with the projects he had embarked upon since assumption of office last December.

“It is on record that a number of road projects have been flagged off in the three senatorial districts while the inherited ones are being worked on for delivery as scheduled.”

The legal practitioner equally made reference to the prompt payment of salary and allowances as and when due, expressing the hope that the continuity of the administration would be a plus for the public service of the state.

Similarly, the State Secretary of the Grassroots Democracy Defenders, Hon Dipo Ajibola charged the Coordinators in the local government areas as well as the LCDAs to keep spreading the message of good governance being championed by Governor Aiyedatiwa.

The meeting concluded by also acknowledging the Patron, His Excellency, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, former deputy governor of the state who they said had been a pillar of support for the group in the past.

It is expected that various people-oriented programmes set aside to boost the chances of the APC and its candidate in the November 16 governorship poll will be rolled out in no distant time.
