AIYEDATIWA, OTHER DIGNITARIES IN ATTENDANCE AS SERVICE OF SONGS HELD FOR LATE SSG TEMITAYO OLUWATUYI
The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, alongside other dignitaries, attended the Service of Songs and Christian Wake held on Friday in honour of the late Secretary to the State Government, Hon Temitayo Oluwatuyi.
The solemn gathering, held at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade in Akure, was part of the activities leading to his burial.
In his remarks, Governor Aiyedatiwa paid glowing tribute to the late Oluwatuyi, acknowledging his remarkable legacy in the political and administrative landscapes of Ondo State.
He described the former SSG as a selfless leader who dedicated his life to public service, championing the interests of various groups and contributing immensely to the state’s growth and development.
Governor Aiyedatiwa noted that Ondo State has lost a seasoned, generous, and diligent statesman whose calm demeanor and wealth of experience were invaluable.
The service began with a Bible reading by the deceased’s daughter, Mrs. Jumoke Adeola, from Ecclesiastes 3:1-11, a passage reflecting on life’s seasons and divine timing.
Delivering an exhortation titled “Where Will Christ Find You?”, Pastor James Onagwa drew from Matthew 24:35, emphasizing the fleeting nature of life and the importance of preparing for eternity.
In his tribute, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire (SAN), representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, described Oluwatuyi’s passing as a significant loss to the Akure community. He highlighted the deceased’s contributions and exemplary service.
Mrs. Jumoke Adeola, reflecting on her father’s legacy, described him as a compassionate man and a cheerful giver who taught his children the value of selfless generosity.
The final rites for the late Oluwatuyi will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, when his remains will be laid to rest.
The event was graced by top government officials and political figures, including the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami; Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, along with other lawmakers; Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa; Ondo APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin; Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Ayo Olawande; Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola; APC chieftains, Chief Olusola Oke, Hon. Akinsehinwa Awodeyi Apata and Prince Ademola Adegoroye; and Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Prof. Abeebat Omolara Adubiaro, among others.
