EMULATE CHRIST’S VIRTUES, ONDO NUJ CHAIRMAN ADEGBITE CHARGES MEMBERS AT EASTER
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ondo State Council, felicitates Christians in the state, especially journalists, on the occasion of this year’s Easter Celebration.
NUJ Ondo State Council urges Christians to use Easter Celebration marking the end of the 40-day lengthen season commemorating the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the desert and enduring temptation by Satan, to reflect on the ups and downs of life.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite and Secretary, Olaoluwa Meschak and made available to newsmen in Akure.
The Union also enjoins our Christian brothers and sisters to learn from the love, humility and endurance displayed by Jesus Christ for the sake of mankind during his trial, humiliation and crucifixion.
NUJ also emphasizes the need for Christians to use the 2025 Easter Period to pray for peace and security in the state, while also seeking God’s intervention in the country’s socio-economic situation.
The union however appeals to its members to remain committed to the course of humanity through selfless service by upholding the truth at all times.
Ondo NUJ also urges Nigerians to look beyond the present economic situation but pray fervently for the country, stressing that the spirit of Easter reminds us that with faith and patience, we can overcome every obstacle.
We pray that the spirit of Easter brings all of us new beginnings, fresh starts and sweet surprises.
