SOUTHWEST WOWICAN HONOURS ONDO LG SERVICE COMMISSIONER RONKE OJO WITH AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

They all gathered at the First ECWA church at Alagbaka in Akure as part of the activities marking the annual zonal convention of the Women Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria(WOWICAN).
This aspect was the decoration of a woman who has been and still contributing to the development of women and the society as well as good governance at the third-tier of government.
The Women Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria took a decision to honour a commissioner in the Ondo State Local Government Service Commission, Hon(Mrs) Ronke Ojo with a meritorious award of excellence.
The event was attended by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa represented by Engr. Tunde Lawal as well as the Special Adviser to Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties, Bola Taiwo, Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Femi Idris and the State Chairman of CAN, Revd. Fr. Anselm Ologunwa.
Other notable personalities in attendance are the husband, Hon Babafemi Ojo, an SSA to the Governor on Rural Development to the Governor of Ekiti State, Engr Babatunde Lawal, a friend of the Governor, Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Permanent Secretary, Loans Board, Hon Abiodun Akintade, Vice Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Hon Adebayo and other senior staff of Local Government Service Commission, Christian Mother’s Association and Akure South women leaders and other well wishers.
Presenting the meritorious award of excellence, the Chairperson of WOWICAN in the Southwest Zone, Prophetess Odunola Raji-Adebesin described Hon(Mrs) Ronke Ojo as a woman of substance whose contributions to the growth of women would continue to be a reference point.
She urged other female political appointees as well as players in the public and private sectors to emulate the local government service commissioner.
In her response, Hon. Ronke Ojo described the honour as a challenge to do more, assuring that she would keep imparting positively on women and the society in general.
The commissioner expressed gratitude to the CAN Women Wing for the recognition and dedicated the Award to God Almighty, her family and her well-wishers.
In his remarks, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa represented by Engr. Tunde Lawal commended the Women Wing of Christian Association Nigeria for recognising excellence and urged the awardee to keep playing her part in women and societal development.
The governor expressed happiness that Mrs Ronke Ojo has continued to be a good ambassador of the All Progressives Congress as well as the state at large.
Hon(Mrs) Ronke Ojo had served and still serving in different capabilities.
A former member of the SUBEB Board, former Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Women Mobilisation, State Coordinator of APC Professional Women for Asiwaju Campaign Organization 2023, National Women Leader Coalition for Support Group for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2023 to mention but a few.
