A 32-year-old man, Rabiu Musa, on Thursday in Kano lost his life when a three-storey building collapsed on Ahmadu Bello Way.
The state Fire Service spokesman, Saminu Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident in a press statement, said the last floor of the building under construction collapsed and trapped two people.
Danjuma Tijjani of about 52 years old was also trapped but was rescued alive with injuries.
According to the statement, Musa was brought out from the debris unconscious.
“All victims were conveyed to Muhammad Abdullahi Wasai Hospital for medical attention, but Rabiu Musa was confirmed dead,” he said.
Investigation was said to have commenced into the incident.
“Today being Thursday, March 17, 2022, our formation received emergency call at about 13:39 hrs from Nigerian Communication Commission that reported an incident at Ahmadu Bello Way opposite State Library.
“When our men arrived the scene at about 13:46 hrs, they discovered that a building of three floors of about 200 X 200ft, under construction, collapsed with different category of workers inside the building,” the statement read.
