BREAKING: AGAGU WITHDRAWS FROM ONDO SOUTH BYE-ELECTION, SAYS PROCESS PREDETERMINED
A leading aspirant in the Ondo South Senatorial Bye Election, Pastor Femi Agagu has withdrawn from the race.
In a statement signed by the ace politician, exiting from the contest became honourable and reasonable, having realised that the process cannot be fair and as such won’t produce a popular candidate.
“It dawned on me that a supposedly open democratic process has suddenly taken on a shadowy outlook, leaving some of us in the dark…
I am, therefore, left with no option than to pull out of the contest whose outcome has already been predetermined”
Agagu thanked his supporters and members of his political family for their steadfast belief in his competence, capacity and suitability to represent the people of Ondo South in the Senate.
“I’m not unaware of your eagerness and your determination. Some of you had trooped out this morning in anticipation of the primaries only to be told that those who were to conduct the Primaries had not even arrived Akure.”
The former Commissioner for Education, however, urged them to be resolute in their support for the Party and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.
Pastor Agagu is the Director-General of PBAT Continuity Project, PCP, one of the major support groups campaigning for Tinubu’s re-election.
