DELTA ECONOMIC SUMMIT: CHIEF TEJIRI JOHNGOLD HAILS GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI’S VISIONARY LEADERSHIP
Chief Tejiri Collins Johngold, an influential stakeholder in the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a widely respected youth leader with strong engagement at the party’s national level, has commended the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, for the successful hosting of the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit, describing the initiative as a timely and strategic step toward advancing economic growth, attracting investment, and creating sustainable opportunities for the people of Delta State.
Chief Johngold stated that the summit reflects Governor Oborevwori’s foresight and unwavering commitment to repositioning Delta State as a preferred destination for investment, innovation, enterprise, and industrial growth. He noted that the gathering of captains of industry, investors, policymakers, development partners, and business leaders from within and outside Nigeria demonstrates the administration’s readiness to chart a new course of economic prosperity for the benefit of present and future generations.
According to him, no meaningful society can attain lasting prosperity without creating an enabling environment for investment. He observed that Delta State possesses immense comparative advantages, including abundant natural resources, a strategic location, rich agricultural potential, a youthful workforce, and significant opportunities in oil and gas, manufacturing, technology, tourism, renewable energy, infrastructure, and the blue economy.
“The Delta State Economic and Investment Summit is more than an event; it is a bold declaration that Delta State is open for business and prepared to compete in the global investment landscape. It sends a clear message that economic growth must be driven by strategic partnerships, innovation, and private sector participation,” he said.
Chief Johngold further emphasized that while political parties may differ in ideology and approach, the pursuit of economic prosperity and the welfare of the people must always remain a shared responsibility. He stressed that every initiative capable of creating jobs, stimulating enterprise, empowering young people, and improving the standard of living of Deltans deserves encouragement and constructive support.
He expressed confidence that the outcomes of the summit would strengthen investor confidence, attract new capital, accelerate industrialization, expand opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises, and position Delta State as one of Africa’s fastest-growing subnational economies.
Chief Johngold urged both local and international investors to seize the opportunities unveiled at the summit and partner with the Delta State Government in building a resilient, diversified, and globally competitive economy.
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to policies and initiatives that advance economic development, responsible leadership, youth empowerment, and sustainable prosperity, while expressing optimism that Delta State is steadily emerging as a model for investment, innovation, and inclusive growth in Nigeria.
