GREEN ENERGY INT’L LTD BAGS ENERGY COMPANY OF THE DECADE AWARD AT DAILY TIMES CENTENARY ANNIVERSARY

The Green Energy International Limited has been honoured with the Energy Company of the Decade Award at the 100th anniversary of Daily Times of Nigeria.
The award was part of activities marking the centenary of the newspaper which began publication in 1926 and has chronicled Nigeria’s political, economic, social and cultural development over the past century.
Green Energy International Limited won the award following its impact on the energy sector in Nigeria.
The Operator of Otakikpo Marginal Field in Andoni local government area of Rivers State built the first ever Indigenous Crude Oil Onshore Terminal in Nigeria after 50 years of relying on the ones constructed by multinationals.
Apart from the outstanding records in the sector, the company was singled out for its involvement of the locals as well as prioritisation of community development in the host communities.
Chairman of the DTN@100 Heroes Awards Council, Bolaji Okusaga, said Green Energy International Limited was selected because the company received the highest nominations in the sector.
“Following an extensive nomination and public voting process, your company received the highest number of votes in this award category.”
“The Times Heroes Award Council and other key stakeholders subsequently confirmed your company’s selection in recognition of your contribution to national development,” Mr Okusaga said.
Presenting the award to the Chairman and CEO of Green Energy International Limited, Pastor(Prof) Anthony Adegbulugbe, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi described the CEO, Prof Anthony Adegbulugbe as a pride of Yoruba land and Nigeria in general.
Oba Ogunwusi urged Professor Adegbulugbe and Green Energy International Limited to continue to play their part in ensuring a brighter future for both the oil and gas industry, as well as the country at large.
Receiving the award, Pastor(Prof) Adegbulugbe said the successes recorded was achieved with team spirit and dedication of the management and other stakeholders.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for providing the required enabling environment for the sector to thrive, noting that the company has contributed to the increased crude production in the country.
Adegbulugbe thanked the Board, Management, and Organising Committee of the Daily Times Nigeria @100 Celebration, the Times Heroes Award Council, and all Nigerians who supported the nomination.
The Chairman said the honour reflects the company’s dedication to promoting efficient service delivery as well as considerations for the future of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
Other distinguished Nigerians honoured include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume and former President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Akinwumi Adesina.
