NIGERIA @ 66: ONDO GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES PROGRAMMES TO MARK NATION’S ANNIVERSARY
The Ondo state government has released the programmes and activities marking the 66th independence anniversary of Nigeria.
According to a statement made public, the events will kick off with a Jumat service at the Akure Central Mosque on Friday, September 25th, 2026 by 1.00pm.
The thanksgiving service is slated for Sunday September 27th at Agape Christian Assembly, Ilesa Road by 9.00am.
On Thursday October 1st, Parade and March Past will be held at Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade, Igbatoro Road by 10.00am.
According to a statement from the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, the events would attract top government functionaries led by the Governor, Hon. (Dr) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, FCA.
Also expected at the events include members of the state house of assembly as well as federal legislators, traditional authorities, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and members of the general public.
The statement adds that all structures and processes to ensure hitch-free events have been put in place, urging attendees to prioritise punctuality.
