ONDO ELDERS MOVEMENT MOURNS DEMISE OF TWO APC STALWARTS, PA AKEJU AND CHIEF EKUNNUSI
The Ondo Elders Movement for Tinubu in 2027 has expressed profound grief over the passing of two prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Ondo State, Chief Erastus Akeju, and Chief Alhaji Liadi Ekunnusi, the Olokedogan of Okoja, Ikare.
In a statement signed by the movement’s Coordinator, Otunba Agboola Kelly, the group described the twin losses as a painful blow to the APC family and the state’s progressive community.
The movement eulogised Pa Akeju as a respected elder statesman, pillar of wisdom, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the progressive cause.
He was credited with strengthening the APC Elders Forum through bridge-building, grassroots mobilisation, and advocacy for good governance and party unity.
His residence was a rallying point for community initiatives, notably medical outreaches that supported many elderly citizens. His strong passion for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 was described as exemplary.
On Chief Ekunnusi, the statement hailed him as a tireless party loyalist, humble community leader, and elder statesman whose immense contributions to the growth, stability, and unity of the APC in Ondo State remain indelible.
The group noted that his death has created a huge vacuum in the party, the traditional institution, and the larger Ikare community and Ondo State
The Ondo Elders Movement extended heartfelt condolences to the immediate families of the deceased, the APC family in Ondo State, the people of Okoja, and the traditional council.
They prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of Pa Akeju and Chief Ekunnusi, while urging party members to emulate their exemplary lives of service, loyalty, and dedication to the progress of Ondo State and the nation.
