OVER 3000 ONDO WORKERS SHORTLISTED AS 2026 PROMOTION EXERCISE COMMENCES
The Ondo State government on has Monday commenced the year 2026 promotion exercise for workers across the state public service.
Speaking while flagging off the Head of Service, Bayo Philip noted that more than 3000 workers who have completed their three years waiting period had been penciled down for the exercise.
Philip, who lauded the painstaking efforts of the Office of Establishment and Training under the leadership of the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Dare-Atunse Olufunke, which cummulated to the flag-off, said prospective beneficiaries had be found deserving the promotion and were invited to be interviewed.
He therefore charged them to conduct themselves ethically to make the whole process progress smoothly so that the exercise could be completed within the shortest possible time.
While appreciating the State Governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for always approving the yearly exercise without skipping any year since his assumption of office, the Head of Service noted that there were states in the federation that either approve promotion in arrears of many years or without immediate financial benefits, adding that the Ondo State Public Service had had it so good under the present administration.
Philip therefore charged the officers to reciprocate the good gesture by rededicating themselves to efficient service delivery, saying their eventual promotion is a call to higher responsibility.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Dare-Atunse, applauded the Head of Service for providing leadership resulting to the early commencement of this exercise, adding that he had always been liberal in handling issues touching the welfare of the workforce.
She thanked the governor for prioritising the welfare of the public servants in the scheme of things in the state.
