PVC: EKITI APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE MEMBER, DELE PHILIPS CHARGES ELIGIBLE VOTERS ON COLLECTION
A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Committee in Ekiti state, Dele Philips has charged eligible voters to avail themselves of the opportunity of Tuesday work-free day to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, PVC.
In a statement by his media assistant, Iyiola Adetola, the party chieftain urged members of the public at large to visit their respective Polling Units to collect their PVCs in preparation for the forthcoming general elections to enable them exercise their franchise.
According to him, all citizens of voting age should participate in the electioneering process and vote for the APC as the PVC remains the only tool which could empower them to exercise their franchise.
Philips who was also the Chairman of the BAO Campaign Committee in Ekiti West local government area in the last governorship election appreciated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for granting a Work-Free day without which it would have been difficult for them to collect the PVCs, given the limited number of days before the end of the collection exercise.
Dele Philips therefore enjoined all eligible voters in Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 2 comprising Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero local government areas as well as the entire state to visit their respective polling units where they registered for the collection and get ready for the polls.
“I have to appeal to our people in Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 2 and Ekiti State in general who are yet to collect their PVCs to ensure that they are not shut out of the opportunity, more so that the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji has approved a work-free day to make the process easier.”
“Anyone who has been following the statistics would agree with me that we in the southwest have a long way to go, considering the volume of uncollected PVCs in our region”.
“Let our opinion leaders keep emphasising this to make it a priority as the card remains our weapon to elect the leaders we desire”, Dele Philips added.
