REVIEW OF AJAMA: AIYEDATIWA PRESENTS STAFFS OF OFFICE TO OLU JINRINWO, SEPELUWA OF OROTO IN ILAJE
The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has officially presented Instruments of Appointment and Staffs of Office to two monarchs in Ilaje Local Government Area of the State.
The event, which attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, government officials, and stakeholders at Jirinwo and Oroto Communities in Ilaje land, have His Royal Majesty, Oba Jackson Akinsowon Okorisa being presented with Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office as the Olu of Jirinwo and His Royal Majesty Oba Adewale Orisamoluwa as the Sepeluwa of Oroto.
Presenting the instrument of Appointment and Staff of office to the monarchs in their respective domains, the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa said the appointment was the outcome of the review of the report of the Justice AJAMA committee on Chieftaincy matters.
The Governor who revealed that the six mam panel that reviewed the Ajama report recommended that the Olu Jinrinwo of Jinrinwo and Sepeluwa of Oroto stools are recognized and upgraded from a minor Chieftaincy status to Obaship status.
He warned against appointing minor chiefs in disputed areas and other communities outside their kingship jurisdiction.
While appreciating stakeholders whose efforts ensured the successful realisation of the events, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged the monarchs and other traditional rulers within the region, to work closely with the state government in promoting peace, unity, security, and sustainable development in their various domains.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and cultural preservation.
The Ondo State Governor, who was represented by the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, enjoined the monarchs not to use the instrument of authority at their disposal to oppress and intimidate their perceived enemies.
The Governor further enjoined the people to join hands with him in bringing unprecedented development to the areas noting that Ilaje land would become one of the commercial and industrial hub in the country in no distant time.
Earlier in his address of welcome, the Chairman of Ilaje Local Government, Mr. Maurice Oripenaye who highlighted notable achievements of Aiyedatiwa’s administration which included the cash support to the elderly, the construction and dualisation of Igbokoda–Okitipupa road, and the establishment of School of Nursing at Igbokoda, among several other developmental projects ongoing in the Local Government Area, called on the people to remain steadfast in their support for the Governor, stressing that sustainable support would enable the continuation of more developmental projects and transformational initiatives to thrive across Ilaje land and Ondo State in general.
Thanking the Ondo State government for the good gesture, the monarchs, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jackson Akinsowon Okorisa, the Olu of Jirinwo and Oba Adewale Orisamoluwa, the Sepeluwa of Oroto expressed their profound gratitude to the Almighty God and Governor Ayedatiwa for the honour bestowed on them.
They pledged to lead with fairness, equity and justice through the wisdom from the Almighty God
