Announcing the winners, the Chairman of the Organising Council of the awards, Bolaji Okusaga described the overwhelming public participation as a testament to Nigeria’s to celebrate excellence, integrity and transformational leadership.
This, he said followed a nationwide public voting exercise that attracted thousands of verified votes from Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
Green Energy International Limited is being honoured in the corporate category as the Energy Company of the Decade in recognition of the company’s transformative contributions to Nigeria’s energy sector.
This according to the DTN includes the successful delivery of the first ever indigenous Otakikpo onshore crude oil export terminal in record time, 50 years after the last terminal was constructed in Nigeria.
This time the onshore terminal was the first by an indigenous oil company.
This is apart from the execution of other strategic projects that have strengthened indigenous capacity and expanded the nation’s energy infrastructure.
Reacting to this development, the Chairman of Green Energy International Limited, Pastor(Prof) Anthony Adegbulugbe said the honour is a challenge not only to sustain the tempo but also ensure an improvement.
He said the terminal has since its commissioning in 2025 by President Bola Tinubu has already exported seamlessly over two (2) million barrels of oil for Otakikpo JV and third party oil companies saying that the increased interest to export oil through the terminal by otherwise stranded oil fields has justified the courageous investment decision made by GEIL.
He stated that the positive results and achievements being recorded are products of hard work, commitment, team spirit as well as loyalty on the side of both management and the entire staff.
Adegbulugbe assured that all hands would continue to be on the deck to keep playing significant roles in increasing the nation’s capacity and recognition in the energy industry both in Nigeria and beyond.
