AKURE CHIEFS RALLY SUPPORT FOR ALEX-ADEDIPE
In a significant development, prominent Akure chiefs, led by the Elemo of Akure Kingdom, Senior High Chief (Dr.) Segun Adedipe, have formally endorsed Barr. Adebiyi Alex-Adedipe, fondly known as Aleco Jnr, as their preferred candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing the Akure North/South Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
The meeting had top Akure Chiefs such as the Asamo of Akure Kingdom, High Chief Rotimi Olusanya and Aro of Oke Aro, High Chief Anthony Falowo.
The gathering underscores the deep traditional and community support for the aspirant within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
High Chief Segun Adedipe, a respected figure in the Akure traditional hierarchy, led other senior chiefs in expressing unwavering confidence in Barr. Adedipe’s ability to provide effective, purposeful, and people-oriented representation at the federal level.
While responding, Barr. Adebiyi Alex-Adedipe expressed deep appreciation to the Elemo and the entire council of chiefs for the honour and trust reposed in him.
He gave a firm assurance that he would not let the people of the Akure North/South Federal Constituency down.
“I will bring the dividends of Abuja back to my people,” the aspirant said
“Different people have been representing this constituency over the years. It is now left for our people to judge whether they have done very well or not.
My commitment is to change the narrative through purposeful, visible, and impactful representation that directly touches the lives of our constituents
Aleco Jnr further pledged to prioritise key areas such as infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, improved healthcare delivery, quality education, and better access to federal opportunities.
He emphasised the importance of inclusive leadership that brings together youths, women, traditional rulers, artisans, elders, and all critical segments of society for collective progress and sustainable development.
This development shows that traditional institutions in the kingdom are playing a key role in shaping the political landscape.
