DR TAIWO FASORANTI ACKNOWLEDGES AIYEDATIWA’S PURPOSEFUL LEADERSHIP, PRUDENT MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH SECTOR
….As Secretary To State Government Pays Unscheduled Visit To UNIMEDTH, Ondo City
The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, has commended the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Ondo, for its excellent facilities, clean environment and quantity services delivery.
The Secretary to the State Government spoke during an unscheduled visit to the tertiary health institution on Tuesday, October 13th, 2026.
Dr. Fasoranti, who was received by the Chief Medical Director, Professor Michael Olumide Gbala, alongside members of the hospital management, described his visit as an impromptu one, explaining that he had simply called the CMD to inform him of his intention to visit the hospital today.
Dr. Fasoranti who is also a Consultant Family Physician explained that his background and responsibility in government made it important for him to personally assess the state of healthcare delivery and observe the activities taking place within the hospital.
He expressed satisfaction with what he observed during the tour, describing UNIMEDTH as one of the State’s “unspoken secrets of success.”
He particularly commended the hospital’s clean and conducive environment as well as the impressive volume of patients seeking care at the facility, which he witnessed firsthand.
Dr. Fasoranti applauded the leadership of Professor Gbala and the dedication of the entire management team, noting that their efforts were evident in the hospitals organization, infrastructure and approach to patient care.
The SSG also commended the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellence, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for demonstrating purposeful leadership and prudence management in the health sector.
He acknowledged the importance of Governor’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and improving access to quality medical services across the state.
Expressing his delight at the level of development and services observed at the UNIMEDTH, Dr. Fasoranti assured the CMD and the hospital management that he would communicate his positive observations and impressions to the Governor.
He emphasized that he was impressed by what he witnessed during the visit and would convey the message to the appropriate authorities.
In his response, the CMD, Professor Michael Olumide Gbala expressed profound appreciation to the SSG for finding time to visit the hospital and personally assess its operations and facilities.
The CMD reaffirmed the Hospital’s commitment to providing compassionate, professional and quantity healthcare services to the people of Ondo State and beyond.
He assured the SSG that UNIMEDTH would continue to uphold its humanitarian responsibilities, Strengthen, its healthcare services and remain committed to improving patient outcomes.
He also commended the Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for improved welfare of the staff and investment in the Diagnostic and treatment capacity of the Hospital.
As part of the visit, Dr. Fasoranti embarked on a tour of several departments, clinics and specialised healthcare units within the teaching hospital to gain first – hand insight into the facilities, services and ongoing activities.
The tour provided the SSG with an opportunity to observe the hospital’s service delivery arrangements and the role of its various departments in meeting the healthcare needs of patients, mothers, newborns, children and other members of the public.
