EXCITEMENT AS SCKYE HOSPITALS INAUGURATES MODERN FACILITY IN AKURE
…The Idea Is To Make The Hospital A Multi-Specialist Referral Center – CMD Dr. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese
It was excitement and rekindled hope for a brighter future in Nigeria’s medical sector as Sckye Hospitals Limited commenced services at its new Multi-Specialist Referral Center with the commissioning of the first phase in Akure the Ondo State capital.
The hospital is a well known facility located in the heart of the state capital with priority for diligence, professionalism and efficient service delivery.
Having operated in the Post Office area of the Oba Adesida road for over two decades, the management led by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese projected a better and brighter future for the medical sector.
This led to the construction of a new modern facility in the Awule area of the state capital and was declared open to mark the 66th independence anniversary of Nigeria.
The event had in attendance family members, professionals and partners both from both private and public establishments.
They include Prof Peter Adefuye, a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology who also doubles as the Head of Department of Obstetrics/Gynaecology in University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Ondo City.
Also in attendance was Dr Stephen Adewole, Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecologist and also a Lecturer in the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Ondo City.
They described the hospital as a great hope of bigger and brighter future future for the health care delivery in Akure and Nigeria in general.
They commended Thomas Wilson Ikubese for the great vision in giving quality medical services not only to Ondo State residents but also citizens of Nigeria at large.
They also expressed the hope of partnering with the Hospital, considering the modern equipment put in place to provide quality services.
Speaking with newsmen, the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese said the idea is to make Sckye Hospitals a Multi-Specialist Referral Center where quality services will be provided in a quality environment by quality personnel.
The CMD explained that the ground floor is for diagnosis where comprehensive texts could be carried out while the first floor is provided for Obstetrics and Gynaecology and second floor for Paediatrics.
He stressed further that the third floor is to handle internal medicine and the fourth floor for surgery where dentists, optometrist and others will operate.
Dr. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese assured that with the commissioning of the first phase of the Center, all structures are being put in place for consolidation of the records achieved.
“Since 2004, we’ve been rendering free medical services for pregnant women from registration to medication to delivery, even ‘C. Section’ free, we also pay the pregnant women #10,000 monthly allowance for one year.
The system in Sckye is capable of running the hospital with or without anybody including the CMD.
Hence, medical services cannot be done in isolation, Sckye requires partnership from the Local, State and Federal Government.
