FEDPOLEL Security Unit Holds Strategic Security Meeting to Enhance Protection of Polytechnic Community
As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and safeguard lives and property within the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (FEDPOLEL), the Security Unit held a strategic security meeting with key security stakeholders operating in Ile-Oluji on Thursday, 4th June, 2026.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), the newly deployed sectional head of the Nigerian Army, Ile-Oluji Outpost, and a representative of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN).
According to the Institution’s Head of Security Unit, Mr. Jide Babayanju, the interactive engagement focused on reviewing the current security situation within and around the Polytechnic environment, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, enhancing intelligence sharing, and developing proactive strategies aimed at preventing security threats.
The need for prompt information sharing, coordinated emergency response, and continuous surveillance of vulnerable areas within the Institution was extensively deliberated upon during the session.
The meeting forms part of the Institution’s commitment to maintaining a safe, peaceful, and conducive learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Participants reaffirmed their readiness to work closely with the Management of the Institution to ensure maximum protection of the Polytechnic community amid prevailing security challenges in the country.
