OLABIMTAN CELEBRATES AKETI ON HIS 70TH POSTHUMOUS BIRTHDAY
…reminisces about his life, times and enduring legacy
The Ondo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, has paid glowing tribute to the late former Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, fondly known as Aketi, on the occasion of his 70th posthumous birthday.
In a statement personally signed by him, Olabimtan reflected on the remarkable life, exemplary leadership and enduring legacies of the late Senior Advocate of Nigeria, describing him as a courageous patriot whose service to Ondo State and Nigeria will remain evergreen.
The statement read in part:
“Today, we remember and celebrate an immortal, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, Aketi—a patriot who stood in a class of his own. I join his family, friends, associates and countless admirers in celebrating the 70th anniversary of his birth, albeit posthumously.
“Aketi was uniquely different in many respects and left behind an inspiring legacy for generations to cherish and emulate. He was a legal luminary, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, a consummate progressive, an altruist of great distinction and a passionate lover of our dear country.
“His unwavering commitment to the development of Ondo State and the unity of Nigeria will forever remain indelible. Your departure created a void that can never truly be filled in the lives of those privileged to know you. Though you are sorely missed, your good name, selfless service and enduring accomplishments remain a source of comfort. You lived purposefully, served diligently and departed leaving behind an enviable legacy.
“Aketi was committed, courageous, colourful, dedicated, loyal and forthright. He served God and humanity with uncommon devotion. Thank you for your sacrifices and unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people. Your remarkable achievements in education, healthcare, governance and infrastructure remain priceless legacies for which generations yet unborn will continue to be grateful. You truly gave your all.”
Olabimtan concluded by praying for the peaceful repose of the late governor’s soul and for divine comfort and strength for his family.
“As we commemorate your birthday today, may your gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace. May Almighty God continue to uphold, strengthen and sustain your beloved wife, children and the entire Akeredolu family. Your memory will forever remain a blessing.”
