***Calls for Unity and Love Among Ondo State Women

As the 2024 Ondo State Governorship Election draws near, more women are advocating for increased engagement and space for women in politics.
On Friday, a philanthropist, seasoned entrepreneur and founder of the Emily Memorial Foundation, Mrs. Rosemary Adeola Fynch called for unity and love among women in Nigeria, particularly in Ondo State, for a more robust women’s engagement and participation in politics.
Mrs. Adeola Fynch made this call during the 2024 City Movers Female Achiever’s Awards held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Ondo State Information Technology Agency (SITA), Opposite Police Officer’s Mess, Alagbaka, Akure.
She decried the low level of women’s participation and consideration in political processes and appointments.
She noted the challenges women face in succeeding in Africa, particularly in Nigeria, where women must balance roles as wives, mothers, and workers.
However, she emphasized that success is possible with dedication, hard work, and discipline.
“Let’s appreciate the organizers of this program because we need encouragement.
Ondo women, we need to get ourselves together. We have to stand and be up and doing.
“All the unnecessary envies are uncalled for. What we need, basically, is love and unity. Since we’re hardworking, all that we need to succeed together is love and unity.
“You can always give it to the women—we are hardworking. We’re resilient and consistent. To be a woman in Africa is the most difficult thing, yet we do it. We take care of our husbands; we care for our children, and we work and are still successful in our various chosen endeavors.
“We should take double honors when a man takes. Every successful woman should be honored. It’s not an easy thing. So, please, let’s encourage ourselves; let’s support ourselves. Love and unity should be our motto henceforth,” she said.
City Movers Venture International recognized women who are trailblazers in their respective fields with the “Female Achiever’s Honors” for 2024.
