UN security council asked to condemn North Korea’s weapons testing

US ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield has called on the security council to sign a joint statement condemning North Korea’s weapons testing.

Ms Thomas-Greenfield said “we care about the humanitarian situation on the ground there”.

“To spend millions of dollars on military tests when your people are starving, I think, indicates that this country does not care about its own people,” she said.
